Climate change
Internationally, the UK is actively promoting a low carbon, high growth economy through an ambitious new global climate change agreement. In this spirit, the overall common objective of the UK is to encourage immediate action and promote climate security in all areas of the world.
Domestically, Britain is striving to "walk the talk" by committing itself to an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over 1990 levels by 2050 through its landmark new Climate Change Law and other pro-active measures to green its economy.
In the USA, we work with policy makers on federal, state and local levels, business leaders and others to encourage acceptance that early and ambitious action on climate change will be good for jobs, growth, competitiveness and economic security.
