Renewing a child's passport
Can I renew my child's passport if he or she is currently outside their normal country of residence?
If your child is not resident in or visiting either the USA or one of the countries on this list, at the time the application is made, you cannot renew their passport through the UK Passport Service for the Americas and Caribbean.
He/she must apply to the nearest British Passport Issuing Office in the country where they are resident/visiting. If your child is at boarding school, the appointed guardian should make an application on the child's behalf to the nearest British Passport Issuing Office.
