BNO passports
This applies to people born in Hong Kong
United Kingdom passports are valid for 10 years or 5 years for a child under 16 years. If you are a business traveller or have family overseas we recommend you keep your passport current at all times. You are required to have a minimum of 6 months validity on your passport to enter most countries.
How to Apply:
Do not send in your application until you have all the correct documents. All documents must be the originals.
BNO-A application form and guidance notes
BNO-B (under 16 years) application form and guidance notes
Documents required:
Completed application form
Existing BNO passport
Original Hong Kong Identity card (PIC) (photocopy is NOT acceptable) - If your PIC is lost, please complete the attached personal information sheet
Two passport size photographs - one photo must be countersigned by the person who countersigns your application form. The photograph standards required for biometric passports are higher than those needed for earlier types of passports. If the photograph does not meet the standards required your complete application will be returned to you at your expense. This could cause a long delay in processing your application.
Notes:
The application and photos should be countersigned by a professional citizen who has known your for at least TWO years (relatives must not countersign)
If your child is under 16, the person who countersigns the application form must have known the parent for the required time, not the child.
Applications forms should be completed in black ink and must be signed within the box on the BNO-A or BNO-B. Failure to do this will delay your application.
