Welcome from the British Consul

It is my pleasure to extend a very warm welcome to the British Consulate in Orlando. We are continually working to update and improve this website and we hope that you'll like what you see.  Keep checking back for regular features on what we, and your fellow Brits, are doing in the region. If you think there is something we haven't got quite right, then please let me know.

From this Consulate, we are responsible for providing consular services to British tourists and residents in Florida, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Our services almost exclusively involve providing consular support. For example, assisting British Nationals in distress, issuing Emergency Passports, conducting citizenship ceremonies, and also ensuring the welfare of our citizens detained in the region. We also work to maintain good working relationships with the local Governments and administrations, and non-government organisations serving the area. Each year approximately 1.5 million British tourists visit our region and, at a guess, approximately 400,000 expatriate Britons live in the region, the majority in Florida. Although we don't know exactly how many are here at any one time, I do encourage you to let us know you are here by registering on our new on-line registration system called Locate.
