Please note the Consular Section CAN NOT answer visa enquiries.

The Consular section handles notarial work, citizenship ceremonies, notices of marriage and matters relating to the welfare of British Citizens within our consular district.  For an appointment please use our online appointment form.

We are open between 9.00am and 12.00pm to assist distressed British nationals, including the issue of emergency temporary passports (Tel: 212 745 0200). Please note that the Consular section can not answer visa-related inquiries.

All passport inquiries (other than emergency temporary passports) are dealt with by the British Embassy in Washington DC.  Please see our passport section.

We accept Consular inquiries from: Connecticut (Fairfield County only), New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. If you are a British national living outside this area, please locate your nearest Consulate.
