Deputy Consul-General David Wild
David Wild has been Deputy Consul-General in Los Angeles since September 2006. As Consul, he is responsible for consular assistance to UK nationals in our Consular District. David has overall responsibility for the Consulate's policy delivery, and he leads on climate change, energy security, the science and innovation agenda and other areas of best practice exchange. During his time in LA he has worked with state officials in Arizona, Utah and Hawaii as well as with partners in Southern California.
Prior to his appointment in Los Angeles, he was posted in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in London, where he worked on two of the FCO's major modernisation programmes, including key strategic partnerships with HP, Microsoft and others.
He grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon - attending the same school as William Shakespeare - and studied at Bristol University and Kings College London. He is married with two young sons and likes watching Wales play rugby.
