Welcome to the British Consulate-General, Chicago. From here we cover the whole of the Midwestern United States (including the thirteen states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin).

Links between the Midwest and the UK are strong, in business, culture, education, science, the arts and many other areas; our job is to make them even stronger. We give advice and practical help to British companies working to expand in the US, and to Midwest companies looking to set up operations in Britain. We work with industrial, political, educational and other communities in the region to exchange ideas and experiences with the UK in areas ranging from urban regeneration to welfare reform.
