Jacqueline Ashmore's bio
Dr. Jacqueline Ashmore is the Head of Science and Innovation at the British Consulate-General Boston. Her responsibilities include setting the strategic direction for the Boston Science and Innovation team, coordinating the team's work with the British Embassy in Washington and with the wider Science and Innovation network in British Consulates across the US, and identifying and fostering connections between the New England and UK scientific and technical communities.
Previously Jacqueline has been engaged with technology and innovation in academia and in the private sector, and has worked in both the UK and the US. Prior to joining the British Consulate-General, Jacqueline was a Principal at TIAX LLC, a technology development company based in Cambridge MA, where she led projects relating to prototype design and development, and sensor calibration and signal processing.
Jacqueline received her undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Oxford, UK. She specialised in modeling fluid flows for her PhD from Harvard University and while she was a postdoctoral associate at the University of Cambridge, UK. Finally, Jacqueline was a Kennedy Scholar (1998-99) and the recipient of the 2004 Andreas Acrivos Dissertation Award from the American Physical Society.
