Deputy Consul General goes to school (November 05, 2009)
Geoff Brammer, Deputy Consul General at the British Consulate-General in Chicago, visited a class of fourth graders at Kershaw Magnet Elementary School recently.
Mr Brammer took questions from the students, who were prepared with a battery of questions on topics from British food to the UK's form of government.
It wasn't the first time back in the classroom for the Deputy Consul General; Mr Brammer is a regular participant in the annual Chicago Public Schools 'Principal for a Day' program first started by Mayor Richard M Daley in 1998.
The British Consulate-General is proud to partner with Chicago Public Schools with 'Principal for a Day', school visits and other programs - including one which recently sent three CPS students to an international science summit in London.
