University of Iowa International Writing Program hosts UK writer in residence (August 28, 2009)
From September 1 to October 10, 2009, the University of Iowa will host Welsh novelist and singer-songwriter Fflur Dafydd, a young woman well known for her work in both Welsh and English language fiction.
Fflur Dafydd is the latest UK artist to participate in the British Council UK Writer-in-Residence Program, an ongoing initiative in partnership with US universities that brings emerging British writers onto campuses to engage with American students and their communities.
As part of the British Council’s partnership with the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program, Fflur will share her work, meet other writers from around the world and contribute to public events in Iowa and Oregon.
For more information on the program and Fflur's public events -- including a reading and panel discussion in Iowa City -- please visit the British Council's website.
