Official welcome to Los Angeles (October 02, 2009)
Last week the Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay was officially welcomed to her new post and the city by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and Los Angeles City Councilmember Tom LaBonge at a welcome reception held at the residence. In attendance were other political leaders, academics and business executives from across the region.
Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay of the event said, "The number, range and quality of our guests is testament to the richness of the UK's engagement in Southern California and further afield. The Consulate-General values immensely the strong partnerships we enjoy here and I'm committed to - and excited about - supporting my strong team in Los Angeles as we continue to develop these relationships."
